Five Instagram Settings To Know as a Social Media Manager
As a social media manager, there are a few Instagram basic settings that you need to know about for quick edits, client account management, and common FAQs from clients.
Here are five Instagram settings every social media manager should know.
How Do I Find Story Responses After 24 Hours
This goes for any post you achieve, stories that expired after the 24-hour mark, or responses!
Go to your profile
Click the three-line menu in the right-hand corner of the screen
Select "Archive"
At the top of the screen, you'll find a drop-down arrow where you can select between stories, posts, and lives.
To see story responses and comments, select the individual story card and swipe up.
How Do I Turn Off My Notifications on Instagram?
Time is valuable as a social media manager, and how you spend it could be the thing that saves you from burnout. Use the notifications and sleep mode to turn off your notifications in meetings, after hours, or when you need to force yourself not to check every single story view or like on your content. Here's how:
Go to your profile
Click the three-line menu in the right-hand corner of the screen
Select "Notifications."
Toggle on "Pause all" for 15 minutes to 8 hours. We also love using "Sleep Mode" which allows you to set days + times, or choose one of the additional options that work best for you.
How Do I Schedule a Reel on Instagram with Trending Audio?
At this time, this can ONLY be done through the Instagram app directly, and not scheduling tools. If you have a trending audio, this is a great feature to lean on.
Select the "+" arrow on your Instagram home screen.
Once you complete your content (editing, caption writing, etc), scroll down to "more options" on the caption-writing screen.
Toggle on "Schedule this reel."
Set the time and date you'd like, and select "Done"
Hit the back arrow, and select "Schedule" at the bottom of the screen.
How Do I Turn On/Off Views on Instagram Reels?
Go to your profile
Click the three-line menu in the right-hand corner of the screen
Scroll down to "Business tools and controls."
Select "View counts on profile."
Toggle them on or off from there
How to Turn Off Like and Share Counts on Instagram
Before posting:
Upload and edit your content per usual
Once you get to the final screen where you start to type your caption, select "More Options."
Scroll down to "Hide like count" or "hide share count" to toggle these off.
Keep in mind that this action does not apply to all future content posted; it only applies per post. So, you must repeat this process per post.
After posting:
Click into the post you are focusing on
Click the Three Dot Menu
Select "Hide like count" and/or "Hide share count."
