Meet Madeleine
Hi there! I'm Madeleine, but the majority of my friends call me Maddie—and if you’ve been around for a while, you might also know me as The Buzzing Blonde from my solopreneur days. I’m currently a social media strategist for Social Savvy and the co-host of Hashtag Managed, our go-to podcast for creatives, marketers, and online business owners who want the real tea on social media and entrepreneurship.
I’m a graphic designer by trade and a Swiftie by soul, with a brain powered by ADHD and a birth chart that basically screams “creative chaos.” If you want the full picture, just know I’m a Gemini sun, Taurus moon, and Aquarius rising. So… do with that what you will.
My focus lately has been on elevating our email strategy, making sure every piece is both beautiful and effective. I recently rebranded The Savvy Edit, Social Savvy, and our podcast, and I’m always thinking of new ways to create with clarity, intention, and a little bit of magic. When I’m off the clock, you’ll find me with my nose in a book, laying out at the beach, rearranging my one-bedroom apartment like it’s going to be featured in Architectural Digest, or playing tourist in Charleston (I’ve lived here four years and still keep finding new favorite spots).
What made you fall in love with social media management?
“Honest answer: Cracking the code back in the day when Twitter was still Twitter and you could grab the attention of your favorite celebrity with a well-thought-out, well-crafted tweet. I would later learn this is called a dopamine hit.
Elevator pitch answer: I fell in love with helping small businesses build an online community that reflects and supports their offline one.”
What has been the most rewarding thing about owning your own social media management business?
“Creating my own schedule/ rules.”
What has been the most challenging thing about owning your own social media management business, and how did you overcome it?
“Figuring out how to function as an adult and entrepreneur with ADHD without any medication.
Translation: finding a good balance between staying motivated and being disciplined.
Cycle syncing, time blocking, scheduling breaks and movement into my day, and giving myself grace through the ever-changing seasons of entrepreneurship have all helped me overcome these challenges.”
What advice would you scream from the rooftops when someone is thinking of starting their own social media management business?
“If a task drains you, HIRE SOMEONE ELSE TO DO IT.
And if hiring isn’t in the cards yet, congratulations...you just found your next business goal.
That, and when you find yourself overwhelmed, GO FOR A WALK. Move your body. Clarity starts with movement.”
